Theresa’s professional experience includes working with “at risk” teens; elementary and high school students as a school-based counselor; and currently with individuals (ages 4-adult), couples and families, as well as providing consulting services for the “Head Start” preschool program through her private practice. She earned a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Columbia International University, and has dual licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in South Carolina. She has additional training for treating trauma, which includes Trauma-Focused CBT and EMDR. As a Supervisor Candidate, she provides supervision for both LPC-As and LMFT-As.
For the past 36 years Theresa has been married to her “high school sweetheart;” has 3 grown children for whom she had the honor to homeschool for 9 years; and enjoys her 6 grandchildren. She has served her local church and community for over 30 years in a variety of venues that include: teaching children and women principles from scripture, serving the Home-school community; participating in short-term trips to Hungary, Romania, and Jamaica; serving on various faith-based committees; and as a peer counselor and Volunteer Coordinator for a CareNet Pregnancy Center in PA. She currently serves on her church’s Global Worker Sending Board, and recently joined the GRC team to provide counseling services abroad. She enjoys reading, camping, gardening, “creating,” thrift shopping, and spending time with family and friends.
